In just 36 days we received full funding and then some from our wonderful backers on kickstarter.com! Backers receive things like acknowledgment in the program, behind the scenes footage, t-shirts, tickets to the show, and original music. Kickstarter is an awesome platform for raising money and we are so glad it worked for our project.

In other news, we are proud to announce our artist for the gallery at 17 Frost Performance Space (our theatre in Williamsburg, where Hansel and Gretel will be performed). Julia Forrest (www.juliaforrest.com) will be showcasing her photography for the run of the show. Read more about the Siblings exhibition above.

We are so excited that Hansel and Gretel was accepted onto kickstarter.com, a platform where people can easily follow and donate to your artistic project. Kickstarter is powered by an all-or-nothing funding method, meaning projects must be fully-funded or no money changes hands. So...this means if our goal of $3500 is not reached within 45 days, we don't get any of it!

Why are we excited about this? Because....it's very motivating and we are handing over power to our audience and people who believe in what we are doing. After all, it's a part of Sparrowtree's mission to keep audiences involved at all stages of production and if people want to see a project come to life, they're going to spread the word.

The smallest amount you can donate is $3, which gives you access to behind the scenes videos, and some funny blooper videos...and the feeling that you are helping produce a small part of our show! The largest you can donate is $1000, which makes you an executive producer of Hansel and Gretel. Oh, and we are always allowed to go over $3500. ;)
